Welcome back to the Run Fierce ‘Military Series’ virtual races! The Run Fierce Military Series virtual races are focused on helping our active duty, veterans and military families of all branches by giving part of the proceeds of each race to an Armed Forces assistance program.

The War in Afghanistan, code named “Operation Enduring Freedom”(OEF) – Afghanistan (2001–2014) and Operation Freedom's Sentinel (2015–present), followed the United States invasion of Afghanistan on 7 October 2001. The War in Afghanistan is the longest war in U.S. history.
At the time of this race launch (July 2019)…Our men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces have been involved in the War in Afghanistan for 17 years and 9 months.
Why are the numbers 2,372 and 20,320 on the Operation Enduring Freedom Medal?
As of July 27, 2018, there have been 2,372 U.S. military deaths in the War in Afghanistan and 1,856 of these deaths have been the result of hostile action. We’ve unfortunately also had 20,320 American service-members that have been wounded in action during this war.
We have a Marine nephew that was deployed to Afghanistan and thank goodness he made it back home safely.
