What is ‘Operation Inherent Resolve’ ?
Operation Inherent Resolve is the U.S. military's operational name for the military intervention against the Islamic State (ISIL) of Iraq and Syria, including both the campaign in Iraq and the campaign in Syria.
Operation Inherent Resolve launched June 15, 2014 and continues as of the launch of this race.
Why is the ‘Scorpion’ on the medal?
The ‘Scorpion’ on the finishing medal is on the ‘Operation Inherent Resolve’ medal our U.S. Armed Service members were/are awarded for their participation in the Operation Inherent Resolve including the Iraq and Syria campaigns!
